As you all know, July is fast approaching which means the Fourth of July, one of everybody's favorite holidays, will soon be here as well! How exciting is that?!

Since AUSTIN9393 hosted the Christmas themed-contest back in December, I thought it would be great if I hosted this contest since I won the last contest. I know a lot of people who unfortunately were too late to enter the Chrimstas contest, so now this will be their opportunity to enter this one! :D

I encourage all of you who enjoy writing stories to participate in this because it will be a lot of fun! If this contest turns out to be successful, there will be a Halloween-themed Fanfiction contest in October! I am aware that not all of us live in the U.S, (myself included) therefore the Fourth of July might not be celebrated where you live, but it does not mean you should not participate! Share your creativity with us!

Now, since the Christmas-themed contest was centered around Riley, I thought it would be fun to switch it up a bit. This contest will now be centered on Maya and will consist of a submission of 3 chapters in total!

Basically, you will have 1 week to write and submit each chapter of your story to be voted on a poll on the main page. There will be a period of 5 days in between each submission when users will vote for your story. It is very important to remember not to make your chapters too long (I recommend 1k words, if you are having trouble with the word count, please feel free to ask me!) or people will not bother to read them and you will lose votes! 

YOU HAVE UNTIL JULY 4TH TO POST YOUR FIRST CHAPTER! AFTER THAT, NO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED! 

Let us proceed to the due dates:

• Chapter 1 - June 28 - July 4. Voting will occur from July 5 to July 9.

• Chapter 2 - July 10 - July 14. Voting will occur from July 15 to July 20.

• Chapter 3 - July 21 - July 25. Final voting will occur from July 26 to July 30. 
• Chapter 4 - Winner will post their fourth chapter.

Rules: 

1. Please participate actively if you sign up.
2. Fanfiction must be centred around Maya and must have something to do with the Fourth of July.
3. Please keep the story PG rated.
4. Please post your story/chapters in a blog post. Submissions will not count if they are not in a blog post.
5. Dialogue is necessary or it won't be entered in the contest.
6. Minimum length of each chapter should be 500 words.

Schedule

ROUND 1

June 28 - July 4

Kicking off the contest, users will have 6 days to sign up, plan their story, and then post their first chapter in a blog post! This will be your only time to sign up so do it fast!

June 5 – June 9

The wiki community will vote on their favorite first chapter/storyline! Voting will last 5 days.

ROUND 2

July 10 – July 14

We will announce who is moving on in the contest! 3 users will be eliminated all based on who got the least amount of votes. Then, also during this week, the remaining participants will post their second chapter of their story!

July 15  – July 20

The wiki community will vote again on their favorite second chapter. Voting will last 5 days.

ROUND 3

July 21 – July 25

Users with the least amount of votes will again be eliminated and the remaining participants will post their third chapter of their story!

July 25 – July 30

The wiki community will vote again on their favorite third chapter. Voting will last 5 days.

ROUND 4

July 31

Users with the least amount of votes will again be eliminated and the remaining participant will be announced on this day and they will get the opportunity to post their fourth chapter. This participant will be the winner of the Girl Meets World Wiki Fourth of July themed contest! (Yes, there will be a prize for first place ;).
